What to include in a school newsletter

An effective school newsletter typically includes: a header with the school name, newsletter title, and issue date; a brief principal or teacher message; upcoming dates and events; feature articles on student achievement or curriculum highlights; volunteer opportunities and PTA news; and contact information. Keep each article short — two to four sentences — so busy parents can skim quickly.

How to distribute a school newsletter

Distribute your newsletter as a printed copy sent home with students, a PDF emailed to parent addresses, or a PNG image shared via the school's social media or parent app. Many schools do all three: print copies for families without reliable email access, send a PDF to the parent list, and post an image on the school Facebook page. PublishMedia exports all three formats from the same project.
